I've been doing some calcs re the siege element of the game.
The main gatehouse is currently designed with a Drawbridge, Portcullis and Main Gate and using Thane's siege rules each is Armour 6, and about 8 wounds (calc'd by the size of the gateway)
In my limited AoA experience, the likelihood of 24 wounds being inflicted in less than 6-8 game turns (we got in 6 last year) seems pretty remote. Only a battery of War machines might achieve that sort of damage and they are likely to be on the Good side for a change. Presumably the scenario will call for at the very least the drawbridge to be down to make the fosse crossable - That leaves 16 wounds to make. It will take at least 2-3 turns for enemy troops to reach the gate in any event.
Since I haven't yet completed the modelling of the gate and portcullis can we have a pre-match decision on whether these are considered damaged or destroyed? I could probably model them as such for the game.

Just make a ram. With lots of attacks. And tons of wounds.

Have checked the Salute 2011 site and London Gamers are not listed on the list of Participation/Demo Games - is there something you guys aren't telling me?

Thanks Wozza,
Compared to last year there seems to be zero activity on the site concerning the game. April is looking mad for me both at home and at work so I need to plan what to do well in advance...

I'm assuming that by this late stage no news is bad news. A great shame but there you go... can't see any evidence of Terrain Warehouse putting on a game either - has AoA shot its bolt?

Don't know, Raj's forums are pretty quiet these days as well, on 5 or 6 guys that post very often. This forum is beyond quiet, it is dead.

Aoa has disappeared as a marketed ruleset. If anyone has woken up and is wondering thats the smell of coffee.......

Very Happy

A forum is only as good as the posts on it and no one is posting here anymore, mainly down to the fact few of the members play aoa anymore. Rajs forum is suffering too with only about half a dozen regular posters who discuss changes to rules mostly and complex maths formulae for the CCF.

WHFB will always be popular and high profile. With Kings of War from Mantic and numerous other rulesets being visible and discussed (Impetus, Pride of Lions etc) Aoa has been left behind. It rarely appears on TMP (although a lot of old hands still regard it quite highly when it is) and is never advertised. With no product line to support it, it has gotten lost from view.

I won't close this place down as there is a wealth of useful info for anyone interested in AoA and it costs nothing to keep it up. Open to suggestions if people would like to see it morph into something else.
