These guys are based in the UK but ship most anywhere. Well known and respected distributors.

A german translation comes along with every book, for free.
5th Edition will be added within the next few days (I don't have them yet, but they are on the way).

Will Thane be selling the new book in the US? His online store appears to be offline, I also heard he is selling off his 15mm lines, is that right?

For US and north american buyers, I think Raj and Zink have books right now.

But then, I know some of you wouldn't want to deal with them... Rolling Eyes

I don't have a problem with them, but postage from canada to the US is a LOT more than it would be if one of the local shops picked it up. The postage alone adds almost 50% Shocked to the price if I order from raj, whereas if it was shipped locally by media mail it would add more like 10-15%.

As much as I want the rule book, I don't like paying something for nothing (ie lots of postage).

I don't think anyone has any problems with me. I've spent a lot of time trying to keep the peace between the feuding factions. I still don't understand what started all the problems over in England but I do know both sides reasons for keeping it going. I wish everyone would relax a little about it all and think before they react to things. AoA was supposed to be fun for everyone and it's turned into a major pain in the ass due to some personality conflicts.

I'm the one handling sales in North America, including to stores. Raj has been helping me because I was gone for the last month on sort of a vacation and handling family business over seas. If you don't want to buy direct from me you'll have to talk a store near you into ordering the book. I do have a reduced rate for bulk orders. The thing is I have to cover my costs as well. I sold preorders at a discount on shipping but can't keep doing that anymore. I try to ship as cheaply as possible but it still works out to around $10 or more depending on where you're located in the US.

Postage isnt your fault, it just makes it considerably more difficult to quantify purchasing the book with the increased costs. Is Thane getting out of the business? He does not seem to be taking online orders any more, and I would have expected him to be selling the new book. I am sure you and Raj are providing it at the best possible price you can.

What kind of a discount are we talking if I talk the local store into ordering books? Do they need to order 10? 59?

The rulebook contains all the rules and most of the army lists.
When you factor that into the equation then the rulebook is actually very cheap compared to the way a company like GW does it, as they have a set charge for the rulebook but then they charge per army list as well.

I can't imagine anyone having a problem with the Zinkster.

I don't know the details of what's going on with Thane. I do know he's busy with other things. I'd love it if there was another person in the US doing book sales. I don't need the extra work right now and the little bit of cash I'm making from helping to promote AoA doesn't make up for lost time with my real job. Luckily I'm my own boss so I can take time for it. I wasn't ready to have to do the distribution but I want to help. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be organised enough to give people respectable service.

For stores I'm offering the books at a very small mark up over my costs so that they can sell the books at MSRP $40 and still make some profit. Orders of 10 books or more will come directly from the UK so as to save on postage. Smaller orders will come from me and be a bit more expensive because I've paid postage to Canada and need to pay it from here as well. I'm just starting to get up to date on what the actual costs are. I'm trying to offer a bit of a discount for direct orders from players to myself so that they will still buy the books even if they don't have a store nearby. I live a long ways from any game stores so I feel for the people in the same situation. I'm thinking I can get books to people for about $45-50 anywhere in the USA or Canada with the postage being less per book for each extra book that you order.

and I'll see what I can do.

I have not but am a fan of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. I've heard good things about this game and am interested to learn more about it.

its a sweet game . more fluid than w.f.b . faster to play , so you can field much larger armies. and because the rules include army and monster lists, (with online extras) you can save your cash for buying more miniatures and not have to buy lotsa army/rule books.

there's lotsa other cool things, as im sure you can see from the posts in the forum. and with a character creation formula, you are only restricted by the limits of your imagination !
